Hello from Taipei! After a

Hello from Taipei! After a very very long flight (about 13 hrs from LA), very little sleep (about two or three hours) and six movies later (go Singapore Airlines and on-demand movies), I arrived at Taipei at 6:30 this morning. As it is already almost five now, and I've only gotten three hours in the last oh, I don't know, 36 hrs, I'm ASS-TIRED. My mom dragged me out with her to help her find a new outfit for the wedding reception tomorrow (which we did find), and now I'm back at our new apartment. It's definitely smaller, and I don't like the neighborhood quite as much (ok, so basically the only thing I can bitch about is that the food around here is not as good as our old neighborhood, but I think that is a legitimate complaint!), but it is definitely newer (and therefore seems cleaner), which is nice. Not much more to say. Although I am definitely sad that I don't think I will be going to my "wonder" gym as it is very far away from my new apartment and US$100 for two weeks seem a little steep to me...

Thought for the moment: When I make a long distance phone call, and the person I am calling has a cell phone and does not answer, it makes me very upset. Especially when I feel like hearing their voice. Grr.

REALLY annoyed right now. I

REALLY annoyed right now. I need to renew my driver's license (as it is already expired), and I was going to do it today. Mike tells me that it's not open on Saturdays and that I should wait until Monday. I come over and check online to find out that it IS open on Saturdays, and is NOT open on Mondays. I leave on Monday.

Needless to say, I am extraordinarily pissed. Except, I'm not allowed to be. GRR.

I have been so deprived

I have been so deprived of internet connection, it's almost a little pathetic. I couldn't be able to explain how happy I am to be wired again, and even if it's only for a little while. BUT, there is a lot to talk about, so here we go, starting on Wednesday, Dec. 17

Wednesday
Cousin and I fly to Boston for my bro's wedding. Get a "nice" surprise to find out that he has rented me a car and wants me to follow him in the dark while it is pouring rain. Not exactly the best way to get into town. I almost get run over by two cars as I switch lanes really fast to catch an exit. Needless to say, the drivers of those cars were not happy with me and made it known (ie, honking horn for at least a good ten seconds...doh). Oh! And I watched Lord of the Rings. Orlando Bloom's role was very small *sniffle*. Hehehe.

Thursday
Mom, Szulun, and I were supposed to go sight-seeing around Boston, BUT as I was about to turn onto a road to get to the access road to the highway, some lady rear ends me HARD. Because I was driving a rental car, and we hadn't put me as a driver, I had been extra careful. Since I was merging onto the road, I figured I would take it safe, but apparently the lady behind me did not feel the same. My car was fine, but her car was hurt pretty bad -- both of her airbags deployed, and her windshield broke. My mom and I had our seatbelts on, but apparently since I forgot to remind her, my cousin did NOT have hers on and suffered from severe whiplash. For some odd reason, maybe b/c I am bitch, I didn't feel THAT much(for her, that is). I was just upset about the whole accident even happening, and then my cousin wanted to go the hospital even though we all knew that it was just whiplash. I was seriously hoping that the lady and I would just exchange insurance information when the damn police came, making it infinitely more complicated. Me, being the idiot, told the police officer that my mom was driving (since the lady said she would say so too, but then she backed out), and I got a SEVERE lecture from the police officer (ie: "I could arrest you. This is a severe offense...etc") *sigh*. That made my day even worse. But anyway, my cousin then went to the hopsital and got cat scans, x-rays done. I just have to bitch for a moment, but it was SO unsevere that half way through, she said she had to go to the bathroom, and the nurse just TOOK OFF HER NECK BRACE, and was like "go for it." Sorry, that can't be that serious, right? But yeah, basically, the whole day was ruined. Oh, and I pissed off my mom when we got to the hotel b/c I wanted to go the gym (the whole relieving stress thing) instead of the mall. She was not thrilled with me. Boo.

Friday
Went around Harvard and MIT. Went to the mall and spent some mad money getting pedicures and manicures for my mom and me. Never did it before, the pedicure was super fun, the manicure wasn't really worth it. But I think my mom really enjoyed it, so it was pretty nice. Kind of a bonding experience. Sort of funny b/c usually it's the mom who takes the daughter to enjoy these sorts of things. But, it's always me taking my mom to try out these random things. I definitely think my mom desires it. :) Anyway, afterwards went to pick up my Dad at the airport. We went to go eat at Legal Seafoods. It was mad good. I really like their lobster. Too bad I didn't order that (stole half of it from my mom). But nevertheless, it was super yummy.

Saturday
My brother got married today! We got up pretty early, went and got my makeup done at Prescriptives at the mall (although I think that American style of makeup is totally different from Asian style). Did my own hair (it wasn't up, to the bride's disappointment, but what the heck, I have short hair...). Yuping (the bride) did her own makeup. She's so pretty (and my brother is so lucky). The wedding itself was very nice. Rich and Yuping spent a lot of time making it really nice. Got to ride a limo, which was fun too, kehehe. The wedding reception was pretty good too. Rich sat Yuping and our family up on the stage, so that was sort of weird. But, the food was pretty good, leading me to believe that the food was pretty expensive (since it was held at a hotel). Overall, it was very nice. Tiring, even for me, so I can imagine how tiring it was for Rich and Yuping. But, there is only one thing to say, CONGRATS!!!!

Ugh...getting tired of updating. Think I will write more later. :)

My landlord is weirding me

My landlord is weirding me out. My cousin just called me to tell me that my landlord went into our house without giving us ANY notice at all. Needless to say, my cousin was scared shitless. I think I would be too. But oh, the best line he gave was, "I wasn't expecting you to be home." What kind of dumbass excuse is that?? I dunno, but regardless, I think it's illegal for the landlord to come charging into someone's apartment without permission unless it's a total emergency. And I'm sorry, a leaky faucet that I DID NOT EVEN REPORT is not an emergency. He's already done this once, what the hell. Piece of shit. I think I might have to move out at this rate. That is going to be a pain in the ass. Grr.

I hate French. Whoever said

I hate French. Whoever said French is a beautiful language is DUMB (ok, so I kno that is a little biased, but I am annoyed). Listening to Frequence3.com drives me absolutely insane when the DJ starts talking. All I want to say to the DJ is "SHUT THE F*CK UP." Maybe it's just him but he just sounds like he is spitting everywhere and talks like he has only one breath for his entire monologue. DUMB DUMB DJ. Too bad this is the only decent station I have found so far (that doesn't annoy me with repetitious music).

I take it back. I like French. I think it's a nice language (as I like watching French movies and their dialogue doesn't bother me). It's just the DJ. He breathes heavily and likes to talk between every other (sometimes between every) song. It's annoying enough that I might just go and find a new station. STUPID STUPID DJ.

Next thought for moment: egg nog + espresso + espresso machine = heaven on earth. How come they don't have egg nog year round? This egg nog latte is SO good. *YUM*

ARGH. I am so annoyed.

ARGH. I am so annoyed. I wrote this long-ass blog entry on Saturday, and for some stupid reason, blogger decided to crap out. FOR LIKE TWO DAYS. So, alas, my really long blog entry is gone *sniffle*. Basically all I said was, "happy bday to me" (as my birthday was on Saturday), and that I felt old. And that I ran for 4.5 miles on Friday, and was really excited b/c I had never run so much without a break before (or with a break, for that matter). That was the jist of it (although it was much more insightful the first time around...)

Anyway, Jen threw me and Scott a bday party on Saturday. It was pretty good. Jen made mad amounts of food, but it was all really good. We watched some movies, drank some daiquiries, and just chilled. It was pretty nice. Of course, me being the dumbass, fell asleep during the last movie. Somehow, making me drink and then getting me to focus on a movie is NOT the best way to keep me awake. I am sure there are lots of pictures of me passed out on Jen's couch floating around somewhere...

Yesterday, my cousin and I went to one of her friend's place and had hot pot *YUM*. I haven't had hot pot in a long time, so I think I've gotten over my dislike of it. It was so good. I think the four girls together ate more than the ten guys that were there. The guys felt the inclination to drink beer and socialize, the girls just sat around the hot pot and ATE. I totally overate, it was that good. Hehhe. We had the traditional chinese hot pot, and we had a japanese hot pot too. I miss hot pots now. I miss chinese people in general *sigh*. Where are my dumplings? Kehehe....

Thought for the moment: Cars + snowy/slushy road + pedestrian = very very VERY mad pedestrian. Drivers that splash pedestrians should be taken out and shot. Boo.

I think I am going

I think I am going to have to change where I blog to sometime soon. It's true. I'm a blog whore. There is something to be said about getting some comments. Too bad my blog site doesn't support it. But then again, maybe that is better. I read all the time that everyone feels that blogs are supposed to be an anonymous outlet, and that in truth, we are just revealing more of ourselves than we should. I have to admit that I sometimes go and read people's blogs that I don't even know (I'm like a peeping tom or something, I suppose). And maybe if I ever met them I would be like, "I know blah and blah about you", but I really doubt it. But yeah, I think reading blogs is a guilty pleasure. Hahah. I'm so dumb.

It's also a wonderful procrastination tool (like my segway?). Which is why I am blogging instead of working on my 48 hr. take home exam. I feel really dumb taking this test. Cynthia and Alina both said this test was "not difficult", but I find myself struggling and googling until I can't google anymore. Maybe I am just dumb *sigh*. Well, I've had it for 14 hrs now, and I've only fully completed two questions (and half two other ones). Grr...can't wait until I finish it (which hopefully I will have all the answers by then) and I can say to everyone else "well, that wasn't really that bad" but inside know that it was a bitch and a half. Did I ever mention that google is my best friend?

I am pretty congested today.

I am pretty congested today. Every morning during winter and spring, I wake up with a slightly runny and itchy nose. Usually by noon time it goes away. So basically, the mornings include me and my gigantic red nose which I have almost managed to rub off sniffling away. This particular morning started off the same, runny nose, yeah whatever, right? But as noon time rolled around, and now it is 2 pm, my runny nose has decided NOT to stop being running and now has decided to progress to stuffed up nose (along with runny nose every once in a while and watery eyes). Does this mean I may be getting sick? I don't feel sick, although I can't breathe. I refuse to admit I am sick. I don't have a fever, so I can't be sick, right? This sucks *pout*.
