Ugh
Wow, I am in a superbly shitty mood right now. There really isn't a very good reason for it, but I'm just "blah" right now. I think it might be the weather (as it was gorgeous yesterday (ie short sleeved weather), and now it is overcast and shitty (ie snow falling and ass cold outside)).
This morning, a few of us went out for dimsum. I had found this place online where someone absolutely raved about this place. And as this place only has dimsum once a month, I was thinking either a) it was really good or b) it really sucked. But since the review (I know, they were probably biased anyway) said it was good, I figured it would be ok to try it. It turned out to suck . Wait, it super sucked. I guess I should've known when I looked through the window and it was a sea of white people (not a single Asian person in there other than the workers). And I should've even known MORE when the owners didn't speak a lick of Mandarin or Cantonese (ie. Cynthia orders the tea in Cantonese, and the lady responds in ENGISH? What the...) It makes me only want to go back to Atlanta (or out to SanFran) for better dimsum. I never realized how much food (good and bad) affected my mood. I've been annoyed ever since.
I think I'm also getting slightly annoyed with how stingy I am. I wish I had the ability to just be like, "yeah, forget the price for the day" and just go splurge. I'm not that kind of person, and when I hear other people willing to do it, I want to too. But then, when the opportunity arises, I am just like "too expensive." Grr.
Oh, and I missed Carmen this weekend. I'm SO mad at myself. I've been wanting to see this opera since when it was announced LAST year. But, super stingy me (surprise surprise), decided to go for rush tickets. Somehow, since the last two operas I went to didn't sell out, I figured this one probably wouldn't either. I was wrong. No one wanted to refund their tickets, everybody showed up. Bah. I am so disappointed. I guess next time I'll just suck it up and pay full price for the ones I really want to see.
