Legally Blonde am I
For the past couple of months, one of my advisors has hinted that I remind him of "Elle" from Legally Blonde. Not only him, but apparently his wife and daughter feel the same way too (case and point: I babysit daughter, we watch "Legally Blonde" b/c wife feels that this is reminiscent of me, and when at movie store cannot help but rent said movie). Today, in a meeting, I managed to say "permeate" (ok, so that's not a word, I know this NOW) a bunch of times while he stared at me blankly. Finally he asks, "What the hell does that mean? Do you mean PERMUTE?" which then I uh, realize that I have been blathering on about a non-existent word for the past five minutes. He looks at me and says, "Elle." Which I blankly look at him until I realize that he is referencing me to the Legally Blonde chick. Nice. So, I ask him point blank, "You think I'm a ditz?" Which sadly, he responds with, "well, she's smart underneath!" Which I staright up take as a, "YES."
My advisor thinks I'm a ditz. I'm not even sure how I'm supposed to read that.

Makeup Alley
I would like to take the time to personally thank my friend, Cynthia, for introducing me to Makeup Alley (note: there is sarcasm here). Apparently, all girls on MUA are just as bored at work/home as me, and spend goobles of time updating this site on the wonders of a) designer clothing, b) exercise videos and c) makeup products (hence the name). Now, I'm glued to MUA looking for new sales and makeup/skincare products. *SIGH* Love how I am becoming more girly each and every day.
On the other hand, b/c of MUA (or Cynthia for that matter), bought lots of clothes at the Victoria Secret and Gap sales. Apparently going on the FIRST day of the sale makes a HUGE difference! Too bad I missed the BR sale. Haven't gotten quite up to the "uber designer shopping" style yet, but I think I'm starting to get there *shrudder*
Lastly, no updates on finding a new kitty. :( Poor Portia. I went kitty hunting again on Saturday, but no kitty really caught my attention. Kitties that are super sweet happen to uh, not like, other kitties, and kitties that are super hyper are well, not particularly cute to me. :( I know, I'm so picky. The more I look, the more I think that Simon was the perfect kitty for Portia. :( Boo.

Doh
Ok...I just went TOTALLY overboard this month in terms of money.
Just looked at my credit card statement, and I was like "HOLY F*CK...someone must've stole my card!!" Freaked out for a few minutes, but then looked at my transactions, and alas, it is not true. :( I just went stir crazy. Somehow I must've thought that I just magically inherited like $2000 extra somewhere.
I think for the next couple of months, I am going to be extraordinarily cheap. GAH.

Bleach
Bleach is a wonderful thing.
Especially when you use it to clean your skanky toilet and all of a sudden it's bright and white and clean. :)

Wow
So I haven't actually updated in a while. I actually wrote a blog entry while my blog was down, but I don't have it on me anymore, so I guess that'll just be forever lost. . .
This weekend I went to the Three Rivers Art Festival. Was kind of cool. Food was a little expensive there, but there was some really fantastic art going on. I didn't actually watch any of the shows, but I did go and buy some art. There was a "master paper cutter" from Taiwan that did some really cool paper cutting that was relatively cheap. I think b/c I was Taiwanese, the guy felt especially generous to me (oh, and it was the last day of the festival too) and gave me a pretty large discount on the stuff he was selling. Was sort of funny b/c he kept whispering me in Chinese, "I'm treating you special; don't tell anybody that I'm giving you a discount or I'll have trouble with my business with everybody else." It kind of cracked me up. I guess sometimes it's nice to be Chinese. Heheh.
Also, the whole internship mess is over. Ended up not going, but I guess this works out better or whatever. The guy I would've worked for actually ended up contacting me and apologizing for the mess his manager created (his manager is an uber dick and irresponsible to boot). So I guess I will be here in Pittsburgh for the summer. But, I will go back to Taiwan so I guess this works out in the end. Disappointed, but I guess that's the way the cookie crumbles.

Foods etc.
Haven't updated on my Scotland trip yet (too much to write), so I thought I would give some good tidbits for food:
Ghiradelli chocolate chip cookies - half stick of butter + two tablespoons of unsweetened applesauce = perfection with less fat. :)
Nectarines + blueberries + strawberries + kiwi + granola + strawberry yogurt = OHMIGOD. Had this at a friend's place a month or two ago. Finally got my act together and tried it at home. SO good. Plus, feel sort of healthy and stuff. Too bad I accompanied the fruit salad with a cheese omelet. Hehehhe.
I rearranged my room last night as well. Got kind of bored with my bed on the side of the room. I think I like my new arrangement more. It's kind of cool that when I wake up, I get to look out the window to some nice trees. Too bad it scares the shit out of me when I go to bed at night (gin = wuss). Was funny though because right after I finished arranging my room, I went downstairs and came back up, and there was a FOUL odor in my bedroom. Freaking out that Portia did not adjust to the room change (as there was no poo in the litter box), I started looking for misplaced poo. The odor quickly disappeared though, and I figured out that Portia was just having a BAD case of the farts. I always think it's funny when you realize that your pets have gas too. Heh.
Lastly, Portia slept on me for the past three nights. She is much friendlier now (due to some circumstances....). I am worried about her, of course. But, it's kind of cool that she will sleep with me now. Just have to ignore the occasional lick of my face when she gets overzealous about cleaning me in the middle of the night. No matter her hyperness now, I figured I should allow her to sleep with me.
Anyway, that's it. More updates later.
