Tidbit of Information

I learned something interesting yesterday. I thought I would share:

Did you know that when you feel congested, it is not because you have mucus stuck in your nose? It's actually due to the membrane lining of the nose becoming inflamed and irritated! That's why it's NOT a good idea to keep blowing your nose when your nose feels congested (ie, it doesn't really help). In actuality, excessive blowing usually leads to sinusitis, which is when your mucus becomes yellow/green.

See! Didn't you want to know that? I was (obviously) surprised. This is also why wondermous (like my word?) products such as Afrin can only be used three days in a row. Afrin shrinks your membranes, allowing you to breathe. BUT if you use it too often, then your nose membranes are like "screw you" hence why you feel congested again.

I felt enlightened. Don't you?
