Is this the way it's going to be?

Last year, almost at this exact same time (end of July, beginning of August), I had some serious drama. And not of the fun variety. I left California and that was the end of it.

This year comes around, and I have drama once again. This past year has been pretty peaceful. Even when Dave gave me crap for being a drama queen, I got offended; I had totally forgotten about last summer.

But yet again, apparently the beginning of August + California means drama for me.

Let me sum it up (because I am immature). Quote from one of my "good" friends:

"The sad fact of the matter is, is that right now, you don't have that portion of humanity which is required to understand that life is more than just you."

The thing is, I'm not really sure how I should respond to this. *IF* I should respond to it or what. Most of me thinks I should blow it off, and just say that's the way it is. But the other part of me is pretty hurt/angry that a 'friend' could say such things (there's a whole 1 1/2 pages of stuff like that). Just...very blah.

OMG.

Too embarrassed to even blog about my eating habits. Here is a "recap" of Tuesday:
1 chocolate chip cookie
3 slices pizza
1/2 Starbucks coffee cake

I mean...SERIOUSLY! My brain is appalled at me, but my stomach...it's so.....HAPPY. As long as I'm not staring at it.

Sheesh. I guess I honestly haven't really told myself that I really need to eat healthier. Never really realized how FRIGGIN HARD IT IS when you have to eat out a lot. There's just so many cookies and brownies, and things of that nature. And my hands...can't physically NOT pick one up and stuff it into my face. It's actually not feasible.

At least I eat healthy for breakfast? I had cheerios today and not even the honey nut variety.

Prolly gonna eat even more bad food since I'm having leftovers for dinner today too.

A little behind on my food blog. :P

Thursday:
Breakfast:
1/2 cup Hemp granola + 3/4 cup soy milk
Lunch:
1 whole wheat pita + 3 pieces ham + spinach + 1 sliced Swiss Cheese
1 Strawberry & Banana Fat-free Dannon yogurt
1 package Nature Valley Honey & Oats granola bars
Snack:
Couple of bites of chocolate cake (I can't help it...)
Small piece of quiche (1 inch square?)
Random fruit (watermelon, canteloupe, pineapple chunk)
Handful of potato chips (sigh)
Dinner:
1 Enchillada with mole sauce + some refried beans + rice
2 glasses of margherita
Some chips with salsa

Ok...so FINE...Thursday was bad. I'm not done with the eating like crap. Wait until I get to Saturday. God. No wonder I am getting fat.

Friday:
Breakfast:
1/2 raisin bagel + 1/2 donut (I KNOW. SHEESH)
Lunch:
Same as Thursday lunch.
Snack:
1/2 chocolate donut
Dinner:
Leftover from Mexican food.
Scrambled egg + radish + green onion.
Snack (after 4 hrs of salsa/ballroom dancing, so it's ok, right?):
1/2 plate of Stir-fried Udon from Jujubee's.
1 glass green milk tea

Saturday:
Breakfast:
1 cup coffee + 1 packet sugar + 1 cream
Rice porridge + onion pancake + scrambled egg with radish
Lunch:
Luna bar
Dinner:
Chinese food from Henry's - some "meat pie" thing + rice + some chicken with green beans and kung pao pork (that was NOT my idea. :P)
1.5 cream puffs (1 vanilla + 1/2 pumpkin). SSSOOO good.

Sunday:
Lunch:
Dim sum at Flower Lounge - I don't even know how to begin to say all the things we ate. Needless to say, A LOT.
Snack:
Chocolate cream puff (I would sigh, but omg, so good)
Dinner:
Angel hair pasta + chicken breast with diced tomatos + green beans
White peach

Ok...need to get myself back on track. Sheesh. 10 days before my ass needs to be in a bikini. GAW. I cannot focus, can I?! Maybe it'll just be "no pictures" from Mexico. Yep...that must be the answer.

Salsa!

Never thought I would go to a salsa class where there were more GUYS than girls. But apparently, at Stanford, this is true. For BOTH the classes I took today. Hahaha. Only in the Bay area does this happen. Maybe I mean to say, Silicon Valley...

Wednesdays are fast becoming my favorite day: my favorite step class followed by two hours of salsa. Sweet. :)

Tuesday:
Breakfast:
1/2 cup hemp granola + 3/4 cup fat free soy milk
Snack:
1 cup weird Yak milk tea stuff (wasn't so hot)
Lunch:
Catered Indian food (so yum). Chicken Tikka Masala, samosa, aloo gobi, naan, carrot halwa, some okra dish.
Snack:
1 slice of chocolate cake (I caved...there was a sheet of it!!)
1 orange
Dinner:
Leftover Mac Grill pasta
1 corn on cob

Wednesday:
Breakfast:
1/2 cup Hemp granola + 3/4 cup soy milk (I am so boring...)
Snack:
Taiwanese plum snack thingie
Lunch:
Leftover Indian - samosa, chicken tandoori + tikka masala sauce, naan, okra
Dinner:
1 whole wheat pita stuffed with 2 slices of ham + 1 slice low-fat swiss cheese + 2 slices tomatoes + spinach. SSSOOO good.
1 white peach

I guess I did ok today in terms of eating except for lunch. Forgot how much I miss Indian food. Hmm...maybe I need to explore some more good Indian food places to eat.

Getting kind of bored of the food diary. Maybe I'll take it offline. But this keeps me (more) honest:

Sunday:
Breakfast:
1 lao-pou bing (wife cake) + 1 chinese pineapple square thingie
1 glass skim milk
Lunch:
1/2 whole wheat pita bread + hummus
1 white peach
Small (like miniscule, sigh) piece of grilled salmon
Snack:
Strawberries
Dinner:
3/4 breast chicken + angel hair pasta in diced tomato sauce (sssoo yum)

Today I slacked. Maybe this is why I am bored with food diary. :P
Breakfast:
1/2 cup Hemp granola + 3/4 cup skim milk
Lunch:
1/2 Macaroni Grill's Carmela Chicken Rigatoni
Rosemary Garlic Bread (or whatever they serve for free)
1 bite chocolate cake (it was someone's birthday!)
Snack:
1 package of plum snack thingie
Dinner:
Leftover Pad See You
1 white peach

My ankle is still hating me. I wonder if I should seriously just lay off of it for a while and let it heal, or if I should just take some ibuprofin and suck it up. I just found this awesome crosstraining class, and I really super like it, but I can't do my step class on top of it b/c my ankle just decides to die on me.

Oh. Something I learned today in cross training that about kicked my ass (and she friggin did at the end of the class too). The exercise is basically this:starting at 10, do 10 pushups and then 10 situps, and count down all the way to 1 (e.g., 10 pushups/10 situps, then 9 pushups/9 situps...etc) with NO breaks. Craziness only because of the speed at which she wanted us to do it at. Hopefully this does good things to my body. :)

Saturday:

1 Clif Bar
Handful of strawberries
Snack:
1 Whole Foods coconut fig roll (it was a sample)
Sample piece of pizza from Whole Foods
Medium iced cofee
Dinner:
1/2 whole wheat pita with a little bit of hummus
grilled salmon on spring mix salad with tomatoes
Snack (at 3 in the morning):
1/3 plate Osha's Pad See You

One good thing about eating light for dinner: two watered down drinks still does the trick.

Thursday:
Breakfast:
1/2 cup granola + 1/2 cup skim milk
Lunch:
1/2 a crab and spring mix salad
1 cup cereal + 1/2 cup skim milk
Dinner:
Tapas bar - 6 tapas + 2 paellas shared between 6 people (can't be THAT bad, right?

Friday:
Breakfast:
1/2 raisin bagel + 1/2 donut (I can't help it, fresh donuts!)
Lunch:
Buffet at Korea House (but, I didn't have seconds!)
Dinner:
1/3 lb (I think?) hamburger meat (no bun), 1/3 cup couscous, broccoli

1 package Nature Valley granola bar
1 Dannon Light&Fit Yogurt

Dinner:
8 dumplings
1 cup papaya milkshake (papaya + skim milk)

I must be serious. I turned down cinnamon rolls, brownies, and ice cream today! Go me.

It's diet time!

Today I went bikini hunting. This was.........abysmal.

I need to work on some stuff. All around my body. It needs help.

SO! I've decided to start journaling what I eat. Maybe if I make it public, it'll make me more likely to eat healthier b/c I am vain and don't want others to know that I secretly gorge on brownies all the time. So. I'm gonna start with today. :) It's boring. I know.

Breakfast:
1 onion pancake (made by yours truly, from scratch!)
1/2 bowl of watery rice congee
2 egg whites + 1 egg yolk scrambled with chinese radish
Lunch:
leftover sausage and pepper pasta from mac grill
leftover fried fish from princeton's seafood
leftover caesar salad (with no salad dressing!)
5 cherries
leftover egg custard bun
Snack:
Double shot low-fat cafe latte
Dinner:
4 ounces (maybe?) of porterhouse steak
1/4 lb king snow crab (holy shit that is good)
1 corn (with no butter or salt!)
spring salad mix (no dressing)

It's not great. But I'm gonna work on it. Think I'm gonna try to cut out cheese, most breads (I still have a loaf left), anything deep fried, and pastas. I think I'm basically going on a low carb diet. Hope I can stick with it.
