HECK YEAH

Ran the US Half yesterday. I MADE SUB TWO HOURS!!!! By like a grand total of an 8th of a second. But WHATEVER. I made it, and that's the important part. :P

At first, my recorded finish was at 2 hrs 27 seconds, which made me extraordinarily sad, but then it said my CHIP time was under two (since I crossed the start line after the official beginning). So...I'm going to use that. I mean, how can time I didn't use be counted against me? :)

For a moment, I thought I was going to have to run ANOTHER half to make it under two. But I don't...thank goodness.

And Carri is a BIG FAT LIAR for saying there were no hills on the course. There were. Quite a few. And that sucked. But running across Golden Gate Bridge was beautiful. And the weather was beautiful. And everyone in the US Half is SSOO much more athletic. Inspires us to run faster and not slack off. There wasn't really any weaving to get around walkers or anything. Actually, I would say I was mostly getting passed for the first mile or so (sigh).

Things I have learned from this half marathon:

1. Mile markers are VERY helpful. Miles 10-13 were NOT marked (or if they were, they were hella not visible b/c everyone around me was also complaining). I had no idea how to gage how much I had left (well, very well at least).

2. Cytomax is DISGUSTING.

3. Taking off your shoes right away after the run is stupid (at least for me) idea. Equals a lot of cramping. Probably b/c I was a little dehydrated.

4. Sports bra is NOT a good place to hold Luna Sport Moons. EVEN if they are in a bag. Friend suggested it, I tried it. Need I say more?

5. I actually kind of like a little bit of hills. Miles 10-13 were completely flat and I was getting pretty bored. At least hills means I gotta try hard, and then I am rewarded with DOWNHILL. :)

Things I learned post-race:
1. Dude. Sleep is awesome.

2. Chubby Hubby is awesome.

Done with half marathon (or any races) for a while. Snowboarding season is up next. If it's a bad season, guess I'll be training for something else (marathon?). If not....................YAY SNOWBOARDING!
