I need a more elegant look for while I run I think. And I got a blister that was the size of two half dollars. That was pretty ridiculous. Maybe THAT'S why I looked so angry!

NODM + Seattle + Port Angles
Well...done with the half marathon in Port Angeles. Got a spiffy high performance long sleeved shirt and a nice medal to add to my collection. Finished in 1 hr 53 min and 35 seconds! Which is pretty awesome for me. Although, I must admit that the course WAS significantly easier than the two previous courses I have run, but that's the besides the point. It was still pretty awesome. Was pretty worried that I was going to completely poop out, but I thankfully held it together and finished. :) Part of me TOTALLY wants to shoot for 1 hr 45 min for the next half (since Carri wants to run the SF half), but that's shaving off A LOT of time, and I'm not sure I am motivated enough to do speed drills and crap like that.
Overall, the weekend was really good. Carri and her friends really like good food, so basically the entire weekend, we were hunting out places to eat. Port Angeles and neighboring cities are pretty cute, but I have learned the I DO NOT like the rain (or cold for that matter). While there, I think it never broke 60 degrees, and it rained every day we were there. It was SO not attractive. I take back that I said I would be willing to move to Seattle. ICK. But because of company, it was still fun.
The whole trip ended on a pretty retarded note (on my part, of course). Sometimes, I really think I am a complete IDIOT. So, I get to the airport about 2 hrs early. I am sitting in the terminal, doing my thing, waiting for them to call for boarding. My flight departs at 7:50, and when I check my watch at 7:40 (I'd checked earlier and was waiting), I haven't heard them call for boarding, so I am really confused (I even make a comment to Scott that I think we are going to be late...). And I look at the gate, and the door is closed, so I am like "ok, they must have not boarded" even though the plane is there. So I walk closer to my gate and I sit down...and then I sit. And then I look at the gate again and the sign has changed to "CLOSED" and the plane is GONE. SO.....even though I was at the airport 2 hrs early, I still managed to miss my flight. It somehow NEVER occurred to me to you know, ASK. That was the last flight out to SJC for the night, so I should've been royally fucked. But luckily there was a flight out to SFO at 8:30 that I managed to catch. So I had to call and beg my roommate to come pick me up at SFO (who was NOT thrilled), and today I have to go pick up my bags from SJC. Sometimes...I am a moron. SIGH.

ALASKA - here I come!
Booked our tickets and reserved the cruise for our Alaska trip! Made lots of executive decisions about how long we are going to stay, which cruise line we are going on, which itinerary we are going to do (blah blah blah). I WAS going to buy Scott a PS3 for getting his PhD and all, but then I decided that doing ALL of the planning for our Alaska trip was just as good of a deal (since you know, my time is money. :P)
We're going for 2 weeks - 1 wk in Alaska, and 1 wk on a Southbound cruise (from Seward to Vancouver). I've got a decent handle of what we're doing on the cruise (and the ports of call), but not quite what we are going to do while IN Alaska. But I am totally stoked, and really nervous. This is going to be AWESOME!
Oh...and I'm running a half marathon this weekend (NODM). Hah. The excitement of Alaska has kind of masked this event. Hopefully I'll do ok. I think I've been running a lot slower than I used to run, so we'll see how it goes. Still want to be < 2hrs, but I think that is just dreaming at the rate that I have been going at.
